Abstract |
In this project, we will synthesize a new series of redox-active and luminescent coordination clusters and their assemblies in the form of molecular crystals and monolayers as well as layer-by-layer multilayers at a liquid/solid or air/liquid interface for the development of new coordination chemistry under asymmetric environments and extreme conditions. More specifically, the research will include (1) the synthesis and multi-electron redox properties of macrocyclic giant clusters for the development of single-molecule cell in the context of quantum-dot cellular automata and (2) the synthesis of dual emissive copper, silver, gold, and platinum coordination clusters and their elastic properties in the crystalline state and at anisotropic interfaces. |
