不斉結晶のメカノクロミズム:汎用的刺激応答性材料の設計と新機能の開拓

研究内容

本研究では、発光性メカノクロミズムを示す分子骨格に対してキラリティの要素を組み込むことで、新奇刺激応答性材料の開発を試みる。 私はこれまでに金イソシアニド錯体のメカノクロミック分子の研究に精力的に取り組んできた。メカノクロミズムとは、固体の発光色が機械的刺激によって切り替わる現象であり、結晶構造・分子配列の変化がその起源として知られている。ごく最近、ある金イソシアニド錯体群が、キラリティが鍵となるメカノクロミズムを示すことを見出した。例えば、エナンチオピュアな金錯体とそのラセミ体が、互いに異なるメカノクロミズムを示すことを見出した。また別の金錯体は、メカノクロミズムに伴い、オイル状固体(アモルファス)から不斉結晶相、更には非不斉結晶相へ相転移する系も見出した。本研究では、これらの知見を更に発展させ、メカノクロミック分子が本来示す発光特性の切り替え能と組み合わせることで、前例のない新奇刺激応答性材料の構築を目指す。
