Design and Exploring Photonic/Electronic Functions of Asymmetric Nanoparticles System Based on Surface Coordination

Abstract

Colloidal inorganic nanoparticles retain a divergent coordination space on their surface together with organic capping ligands. Introduction of chiral ligands leads to the chiral coordination space which imparts optical chirality on the coordination surface as well as on the electronic system on the core. We will establish the chiral chemistry of electronic systems in inorganic nanoparticles through (i) asymmetric synthesis of nanoparticle cores, (ii) induction of supramolecular chirality on the nanoparticle surface coordination space, and (iii) controlled self-assembly of chiral nanoparticles.
