A01 Group: Molecular asymmetry
Creation of higher-order molecular functions based on quantitative design of asymmetric coordination sphere

To develop the design and synthesis methods of metal and interface chirality with theory and experiment, and to clarify the structural, reactivity, and dynamic behavior of the asymmetric metal complex in the solution, crystal, interface at the molecular level. Specifically, to generate chirality by the asymmetry of the first coordination sphere based on the asymmetric oxidative addition of the metal complex in the low oxidation state and chirality by selective ligand exchange of prochiral metal complex on the interface or selective surface adsorption.

A02 Group: Assembly asymmetry
Creation of asymmetric high-order structures based on self-assembly and their functions

Development of asymmetrical generation method by the multi-scale self-organization of the coordination and nano metal material ranging from molecular to micro sizes. Specifically, to develop chiral metal complexes and cluster complexes with electronic asymmetrical potential gradient for the purpose of creating anisotropic assembled supramolecules on the surface of their solutions and solids (electrodes, bio-template nano coils). The aim of the unit chirality assembly technology is the directional movement of the materials, electrons and photons, the asymmetric polarization of electrons, optical and electromagnetic wave conversion and amplification (high).

A03 Group: Spatial asymmetry
Creation of asymmetric higher order functional space exhibiting high selectivity, anisotropy, and directivity

The aim is amplification and dynamic control of the directivity and anisotropic space functions by creating an asymmetrical space utilizing the flexibility of coordination bonds, directionality, and electronic state. To utilize such spaces as a template interface and asymmetric reaction field for the anisotropic assembly of molecules and develop molecular systems with material conversion and transport functions (asymmetric reaction, and anisotropic conduction).

A04 Group: Electron system asymmetry
Creation of chiral material conversion field and chiral electronic properties based on the asymmetrically assembled structures

The aim is to assemble metal complexes and nanocrystals that are the functional units using cross-linking based on asymmetric ligands or chiral transfer based on asymmetric interface and space, and create unique chiral material conversion (molecular recognition, and asymmetric reaction), chiral properties (chiral magnetism, chiral plasmon), and directivity carrier transfer functions with the assembled structure.
