Research Project |
Development of hybrid circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) material for CP-OLED |
||
Abstract |
Two types of circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) (right-handed and left-handed light) exist, which have optical characteristics that are different from the linearly polarized light, which is typically utilized in liquid crystals. At present, CPL is performed by combining polarizing filters. In this research project, (1) organic hybrid and organic-lanthanoid hybrid CPL materials with helical structures are developed. A hybrid CPL material with high quantum yield (strong light emission) and large anisotropy factor (strong rotation) is fabricated according to the new material development guideline. (2) Using the hybrid CPL material obtained in (1), an optically active organic light emitting diode (CP-OLED) that can emit CPL is developed. |
